Standards
National Institute for Standards in Pharmacist Credentialing (NISPC)
The NISPC was established in 1998 to create a consolidated, nationally recognized, credential for pharmacists seeking certification in a variety of disease states. NISPC established appropriate standards of care and offers certification in the areas of anticoagulation, asthma, diabetes, and dyslipidemia.
What is NISPC? What is NISPC certification? Eligibility, costs, how to register, and how to prepare for the exam.
NISPC Disease State Management (DSM) Examinations
General information about the DSM exams, testing centers, and exam format. Each examination is based upon national standards developed by a coalition of recognized experts drawn from all areas of pharmacy practice.
DSM Examinations Competency Statements
Provide a blueprint of the topics covered on the examinations and offer important information about the knowledge, judgment, and skills you are expected to demonstrate as a practicing pharmacist providing services in certain disease states.
DSM Examinations Standards and Objectives
Developed by panels of experts in anticoagulation, asthma, diabetes and dyslipidemia.
Each of the four disease specific outlines delineates the knowledge base that would be expected of pharmacists providing primary care services.
